One swimmer, one instructor, one plan
In a private lesson your Rising Moon instructor works with a single swimmer for the entire session. There is no waiting for a turn and no shared attention, so the pace follows the swimmer instead of a class schedule.
- Ages 2 and up, from first comfort in the water to stroke refinement
- Skills built in order: breath control, floating, getting to the wall, safe entries and exits
- Lesson plans adjusted between sessions based on what the swimmer actually did
- A parent or guardian stays on the property for the full lesson with a minor
Who private lessons suit best
Private instruction is the right starting point for most families we work with, and it is especially effective in a few situations.
- A nervous or water-anxious swimmer who needs patience rather than pressure
- A young child learning foundational water safety for the first time
- An older child who can swim but needs cleaner strokes and better breathing
- A family whose schedule does not fit a fixed group class time
What a lesson looks like
Every session starts with a quick safety check of the pool and ends with a short recap so you know exactly what your swimmer worked on and what comes next.
- Pre-lesson check of depth, entry points, water clarity, and deck access
- Warm-up and review of the previous session's skill
- One or two new focus skills, practised in short repeated sets
- A recap for the parent, plus what to practise before the next lesson
